Best For
Weekend Trail Rider
You spend Saturdays on local trails and the occasional enduro, bouncing between loamy switchbacks and mixed-soil fire roads. The MC360 Mid-Soft thrives in exactly that environment — predictable across changing terrain types without requiring a tire change every time conditions shift.
Perfect Match
Amateur Motocross Racer
You race intermediate-prep tracks on weekends and need a front-end you can trust through bermed corners and rhythm sections. The MC360 Mid-Soft delivers the feel and lap-to-lap consistency to handle both Saturday practice and Sunday gate drops without falling apart.
Great Match
Hard-Terrain Specialist
If your home turf is rocky hardpack, desert caliche, or compressed dirt, the Mid-Soft compound will wear prematurely and give up ground feel. Step up to Metzeler's MC360 Hard-Terrain variant — it's purpose-built for the conditions where this tire starts to compromise.

Frequently Asked
This tire is optimized for soft-to-intermediate conditions — loamy soil, loose dirt, and the kind of mixed terrain you find at most regional MX tracks and trail systems. It handles occasional hardpack sections fine, but its compound and knob geometry are tuned for terrain that has some give. If you're riding hard, rocky ground most of the time, the MC360 Mid-Soft isn't your tire.
The MC360 Mid-Soft uses a symmetrical tread layout, which means you can dismount the tire, rotate it 180 degrees, and remount it to put fresh knob edges back into play. It's a straightforward way to extend usable life — especially useful if you're racing on a budget and need to stretch every set further. Bring it into MTC and we'll handle the swap at our walk-in service counter.
It can manage hardpack sections mixed into an otherwise soft-to-intermediate ride, but it's not built for sustained hard-terrain use. The compound will wear faster than it should, and you'll give up the knob durability and casing stiffness that a dedicated hard-terrain tire provides. Metzeler's own MC360 Hard-Terrain variant is the right call if rocks and compacted dirt are the norm.
R-Spec sizes are developed to meet specific racing class regulations or dimensional certification requirements — the performance profile and construction are the same as the standard MC360 Mid-Soft. The distinction comes down to sizing compliance for sanctioned competition, not a change in compound or knob design.
The alternating knob spacing and open tread architecture let mud evacuate rather than pack in, which keeps grip usable through wet or sloppy sections. It's not a dedicated mud tire, so don't expect it to float through a bog — but it handles the muddy patches you'll encounter on a typical mixed-terrain ride or intermediate track without losing its head.
Most off-road riders start in the 12–14 psi range and dial from there based on rider weight, terrain, and feel. Lower pressure improves traction and compliance but raises pinch-flat risk on rocky sections — too high and you lose the contact patch compliance the MC360 Mid-Soft is designed around. Stay within your bike manufacturer's recommended range and adjust from there.
