Priced by weight: 10W-40 from $19 for the 1 qt and 20W-50 from $18.99 for the 1 L. 20W-50 is the cheapest way into the line and 10W-40 the dearest, a $0.01 difference — which is not a reason to pick one, since the manual decides that.
Per litre the spread inside this line is real: the 1 L in 20W-50 works out to $18.99 a litre, against $20.08 for the 1 qt in 10W-40. If your engine takes more than a couple of litres, the larger bottle is the cheaper way to buy the same oil.
