Best For
Enduro Racer
You're putting in multi-hour days across sand washes, rocky climbs, and muddy woods sections — and you need a tire that holds up when your legs don't. The EN91 delivers predictable, confidence-inspiring traction deep into a race when fatigue is a factor and the terrain is anything but predictable.
Perfect Match
Trail Explorer
Weekend backcountry missions on fire roads and technical single-track are where this tire earns its keep. You're not chasing lap times — you want a tire that inspires confidence on loose descents and doesn't need replacing every few weekends. The EN91 delivers durability and all-condition capability in one package.
Great Match
Dual-Sport Commuter
If your riding week includes regular pavement commutes alongside weekend dirt runs, the EN91's aggressive knob pattern will wear fast on asphalt and generate significant road noise. A dedicated dual-sport tire will serve your split lifestyle much better than this purpose-built off-road design.
Consider Dunlop D606 or similar dual-sport tire

Frequently Asked
The EN91 is built first and foremost for off-road use. It carries an R-speed rating (106 mph) so it can manage liaison sections and fire road blasts, but the knobby tread generates noticeable noise and vibration on asphalt and the compound wears down quickly on pavement. If more than 20% of your typical ride is street, we'd point you toward a dual-sport tire like the Dunlop D606 instead.
The EN91 provides solid sand flotation for an all-condition enduro tire, but it's not going to outperform a true paddle in deep dunes or heavy sand washes. Where it excels is giving you enough forward bite in sandy enduro scenarios without sacrificing grip on the rocks and loam you'll hit right after. If your riding is primarily deep sand, a more specialized option makes more sense.
On a typical mix of off-road terrain, most enduro riders get somewhere in the 1,000–1,500 mile range before the rear needs replacing — the front tends to last longer. Terrain and riding style move that number in both directions. Any significant pavement use will chew through tread considerably faster, so keep the street miles limited if longevity matters to you.
It can handle a motocross track for practice sessions or casual riding, but it's not what the tire was designed for. The EN91 is built around enduro versatility and durability rather than the sharp edge grip and aggressive cornering performance that MX racing demands. If track riding is your primary focus, a dedicated MX tire like the Geomax MX33 is the better call.
The EN91 is a tube-type tire — it requires an inner tube and is not designed for tubeless setups. It's built for standard off-road rim widths, so stick to your bike's OEM specifications when selecting a size. For enduro and off-road racing, we recommend pairing it with heavy-duty tubes to reduce the chance of pinch flats on rocky sections.
Mud performance is one of the EN91's strong suits. The block spacing and void ratio are designed to shed mud efficiently and keep the tread self-cleaning so you maintain forward drive instead of packing up. Riders consistently report solid traction in wet loam and muddy woods — extremely sticky clay will challenge any tire, but the EN91 holds its own better than most in that class.
