Best For
Dual-Sport Commuter
You're on a mid-size dual-sport five days a week — hitting pavement to get to work, then peeling off onto gravel or a fire trail on the way home. You need a tire that's durable enough to go the distance and capable enough to handle whatever surface the day throws at you.
Perfect Match
Weekend Trail Explorer
Saturday is for the trails, Sunday is for errands — and you're not about to maintain two sets of wheels for that. The D605 transitions smoothly from dirt to pavement so you can do both without compromise or a mid-week tire swap.
Great Match
Aggressive Off-Road Rider
If you're deep into technical single-track, boulder fields, or muddy terrain most of your ride time, the D605's 50/50 design is going to hold you back. A more aggressive knobbier tire will give you the sidewall protection and off-road bite your riding demands.
Consider a dedicated off-road tire with more aggressive knobs

Frequently Asked
Yes — the D605 carries a P speed rating, meaning it's engineered for sustained speeds up to 93 mph. It's a legitimate highway tire for a dual-sport machine. That said, you'll notice more tread noise at freeway speeds compared to a street-only tire, which is simply the trade-off of running a block-pattern design on pavement.
It means the D605 is designed to perform adequately on both dirt and asphalt rather than dominating either. On pavement you get predictable handling and solid braking; on gravel and packed dirt you get real traction — not just optimistic marketing. What you won't get is the peak dry grip of a sport tire or the gnarly bite of a dedicated knobby.
Most riders running a mix of street and dirt report somewhere in the 5,000–8,000 mile range. More pavement time generally pushes that number higher, while frequent off-road riding chews through the tread faster. For a dual-sport tire, the wear life is one of its stronger suits.
The block tread pattern does a decent job of channeling water on the road and shedding mud off-road. Wet pavement grip is functional — not a weak point, but not impressive either. Ride with appropriate caution in heavy rain, just as you would on any dual-sport tire.
Many dual-sport riders drop pressure slightly when heading off-road to improve traction and cushion impacts, then bring it back up before hitting the street. Your bike's owner manual will have a recommended range — start there and dial in based on terrain and rider weight.
The D605 comes in a solid range of sizes covering most popular dual-sport and light adventure platforms — KLX, DR, CRF, and similar machines. Check your sidewall or owner's manual for your specified size, then give us a call at (714) 516-9059 or just walk in. We mount and balance on the spot at our Orange shop.
