Best For
Adventure Purist
You ride an adventure bike the way it was intended — loaded down with gear, pointed at fire roads, creek crossings, and trails that don't show up on Google Maps. You need a tire that can take a rock strike 40 miles from the nearest paved road and keep rolling. The Scorpion Rally was built exactly for this mission.
Perfect Match
Dual-Sport Commuter
Monday through Friday it's surface streets and freeway; weekends it's BLM land and forest service dirt. You need a tire that behaves on the commute, doesn't wear out in a few thousand miles, and still hooks up when the pavement disappears. The Scorpion Rally checks every one of those boxes without compromise.
Great Match
Aggressive Street Rider
If your idea of a good ride is carving canyon roads with only the occasional gravel detour, the Scorpion Rally will do the job — but it's not optimized for your priorities. A sport-touring tire like the Pirelli Angel GT will give you sharper on-pavement feedback and better lean-angle confidence for that kind of riding. Ask us at MTC and we'll point you in the right direction.

Frequently Asked
Wet performance is respectable for a dual-sport tire — the tread pattern moves water out of the contact patch efficiently and the compound holds traction through normal wet-weather commuting. It won't match a dedicated street tire in the wet, so dial back the aggression on cold, damp pavement. For mixed-surface riders, wet confidence is more than adequate.
Most riders land somewhere between 7,000 and 10,000 miles depending on bike weight, riding style, and how much dirt is in the mix. The wear-life score of 8.6 reflects genuine longevity for this category — it routinely outlasts the competition. Expect the lower end if you're running a heavy loaded tourer at highway speeds; expect the upper end on lighter bikes with varied terrain.
No — and we'll be straight with you on that. The Scorpion Rally is engineered for mixed-surface endurance, not sustained track speeds and extreme lean angles. Track capability scores a 4.2 for a reason. If you want to ride at a track day, come talk to us about Pirelli's Diablo or Rosso range instead.
It depends on the specific size and your wheel setup. Sizes with an 'R' designation (for example, 150/70R17) are typically tubeless-ready when mounted on compatible rims. Other sizes may require tubes. Bring your wheel specs into MTC and we'll confirm the right configuration before we mount anything.
The Rally runs a more aggressive tread pattern with stronger puncture resistance — it's the right call when serious off-road riding is part of the plan. The Trail II tilts toward street performance with better pavement grip and a smoother ride but less capability when conditions get rough. Simple rule of thumb: if you're spending more than 30% of your riding off-pavement, go Rally; if you're mostly on tarmac with occasional light dirt, go Trail II.
Start with the manufacturer's recommended pressures — typically around 36 PSI front and 42 PSI rear for street use — and drop 3-5 PSI when you head onto dirt for better compliance and traction. Air back up before getting on the highway. Always stay within the range molded on the sidewall, and add a couple PSI if you're running loaded with touring luggage.
