Best For
Track Day Regular
You're putting in 6 to 12 track days a season and need a tire that won't fall apart after the third session — but you're also riding to the circuit, so full race rubber isn't an option. You know how to dial in pressures and read wear, and you want a tire that rewards that knowledge.
Perfect Match
Aggressive Street Rider
Canyon hunting on weekends, chasing apexes, and occasionally getting caught in a surprise drizzle — you need a tire that warms up fast, sticks hard, and gives you honest feedback when you're pushing. You'll trade some longevity for real performance, and the Q5 is built exactly for that trade.
Perfect Match
Sport-Touring Rider
If you're covering serious miles with occasional spirited stretches and want maximum longevity and all-weather comfort as your top priorities, the Q5's wear life and firm focus on outright grip may not be the right fit for your riding.

Frequently Asked
Most riders get somewhere in the 8 to 12 session range before performance starts to fall off noticeably, though that number shifts based on your bike's power, your weight, track surface, and ambient temps. The Q5 is built to handle repeated heat cycles better than pure race rubber — that's part of what makes it a legitimate dual-purpose tire rather than just a street tire with race branding.
No — the Q5 reaches operating temperature through normal riding. A controlled warm-up lap is all you need before pushing on a track day. In cold conditions or between back-to-back sessions, warmers don't hurt, but they're not a requirement for safe, effective performance.
Plan on roughly 3,000 to 5,000 miles from the rear depending on how hard you ride and what you're riding. Fronts typically last longer — 6,000 to 8,000 miles is common. High-horsepower bikes and aggressive riders will land toward the lower end of that range, while more measured street riding stretches it out.
It holds up better in the wet than you'd expect from a track-capable sport tire. In damp conditions or light rain, the Q5 performs confidently where many sport tires lose their composure. In heavy rain or standing water, a sport-touring tire with deeper tread grooves may have a practical edge — but the Q5's wet score of 8.3 speaks for itself.
We don't recommend mixing tire brands or models. The Q5 front and rear are developed together as a matched system — the profiles and compounds are complementary by design. Mixing introduces variables that can create unpredictable handling, especially at the limit. Run them as a set.
For street use, start with roughly 32 to 34 PSI front and 28 to 30 PSI rear when cold — always cross-reference your bike's own manual. For track use, many riders drop 2 to 4 PSI from those baseline numbers and fine-tune from there based on tire temps and wear patterns. Always check pressures cold, before the tire has been ridden.
