Racing Soft (RS) compound hits its performance window at 176°F — engineered for the grip levels that track day intermediate and advanced groups demand
W-speed rated to 168 mph, giving supersport and naked bike riders confidence at full-tuck speeds without DOT compromise
Profile geometry maintains a consistent contact patch deep into lean, rewarding committed corner entries rather than punishing them
Tire warmer compatible by design — MITAS built this compound to work with proper thermal prep, not fight it
Validated on real-world supersport and naked platforms by professional racer Randy Krummenacher across multiple chassis configurations
Street-legal construction means one tire set handles both your weekend track sessions and the ride home — no wheel swaps required

Best For
Track Day Regular
You're logging six or more track days a season on a 600cc supersport or liter bike, running intermediate or advanced groups. Tire warmers, pressure management, and thermal prep are already part of your routine — this is exactly the rubber you've been looking for. The RS compound rewards commitment at lean and delivers the consistent feedback that helps you find — and push — your limits session after session.
Perfect Match
Aggressive Street Rider Transitioning to Track
You've maxed out what a sport-touring tire can offer on your favorite canyon road and have track days on the calendar. The Sport Force+ RS will grow with you as your pace and skills develop, and the street-legal construction means you're not managing two separate tire setups yet. Just be prepared for quicker wear than you're used to and longer warm-up windows before the grip fully materializes.
Great Match
Daily Commuter / Occasional Spirited Rider
If most of your miles are commutes and weekend twisty runs in varied conditions, the Sport Force+ RS is a mismatch for your riding. The soft compound rarely reaches operating temperature on street-paced riding, wet weather confidence is limited, and the tread will wear faster than the performance return justifies. You'll get more from the standard MITAS Sport Force+ or a dual-compound option like the Michelin Road 5.

Frequently Asked
It's street legal, so technically nothing stops you — but it's not a practical choice for daily use. The Racing Soft compound needs sustained heat to deliver its advertised grip, and short commutes or cool Orange County mornings won't get you there. You'll burn through tread faster than a sport-touring compound while leaving most of the performance on the table. If your riding is 80% street and 20% track, the standard Sport Force+ or a dual-compound sport tire is a smarter fit.
MITAS recommends at least 50 minutes on warmers at the target operating temperature before you hit the track — and we'd echo that guidance strongly. The RS compound is engineered around elevated heat; rolling out of pit lane cold dramatically increases your crash risk through the first few corners. If your track days don't include warmers, this tire wasn't designed for how you're using it, and you should look at a harder-compound track-capable tire instead.
Realistically, plan for four to six track days per set. Intermediate riders on 600cc bikes at smoother circuits will land toward the higher end; advanced riders on liter bikes on abrasive surfaces should expect closer to four. Street miles mixed in between sessions will accelerate wear. Budget accordingly — this is performance rubber, and longevity is the tradeoff for the grip level it delivers.
The RS gets a softer Racing Soft compound tuned for track temperatures, which means more edge grip and a higher performance ceiling but shorter life and slower warm-up. The standard Sport Force+ uses a firmer compound that reaches working temperature more readily on street rides and wears considerably longer. If regular track days aren't part of your season, the non-RS version serves most riders better and costs less per mile in the long run.
Wet weather is this tire's clear weak point — the 6.8 wet grip score reflects that honestly. The soft compound doesn't shed water as aggressively as dual-compound sport tires with dedicated rain grooves, and the feel in damp conditions can get nervous. This is fundamentally a dry-weather performance tire. Riders who deal with regular rain, marine layer, or unpredictable SoCal winter weather should factor that into the decision.
Most riders on the Sport Force+ RS settle into the 28–32 PSI cold range for track sessions, but the right number depends on your bike, weight, pace, and the specific circuit. The RS compound is notably pressure-sensitive — small adjustments produce noticeable changes in feel and contact patch behavior. For street riding, follow your motorcycle manufacturer's baseline recommendations. If you have questions dialing in your setup, our team at MTC is happy to walk through it with you.
