Best For
Desert Explorer
You're out in the dunes and rocky flats, pushing terrain that punishes a weak sidewall and eats soft compounds alive. The Razr XT's sidewall lugs and tear-resistant carcass are built for exactly this — confident hookup in loose sand and hardpack alike, without babying the pace.
Perfect Match
Weekend Trail Rider
One tire, all season — that's the goal. You're mixing hardpack runs with loose sections and the occasional rocky climb, and you need predictable handling throughout. The Razr XT's balanced tread design and solid wear life make it a sensible season-long pick for varied trail conditions.
Great Match
Dedicated Mud Rider
If your weekends are spent buried in deep, sticky mud, the Razr XT's tighter tread spacing won't self-clean fast enough to keep up. It handles occasional muddy sections fine, but a purpose-built mud-terrain tire will give you the aggressive lug spacing you actually need.
Consider a dedicated mud-terrain tire

Frequently Asked
The Razr XT is a purpose-built off-road tire — not a dual-sport or all-terrain design. Its compound and tread pattern are tuned for dirt, and regular pavement use will wear it down fast. Keep it on the trails where it belongs.
It handles occasional muddy sections without drama, but it's not a mud specialist. The lug spacing is tighter than what a true mud tire runs, so heavy self-cleaning in deep, sticky conditions isn't its strong suit. For riders who spend most of their time in mud, a dedicated mud tire is the right call — the Razr XT shines on mixed terrain.
Most riders see somewhere in the 600–1,000 mile range depending on terrain and intensity. Sharp rocks and hard cornering push you toward the lower end; moderate hardpack riding can get you closer to 1,000 miles. The tear-resistant compound is a real advantage here — it holds up better than softer off-road compounds in rocky conditions.
They're doing real work. When you're cornering in sand or climbing a dune, the tire's shoulder and sidewall are in contact with the surface — that's exactly where those wraparound lugs provide bite. Riders upgrading from conventional-shoulder designs notice the difference in soft terrain hookup fairly quickly.
We'd advise against it. Running mismatched tread patterns and compounds front-to-rear creates inconsistent handling behavior, particularly under braking and in corners. For predictable, safe performance off-road, run a matched set of Razr XTs.
The steel belts add carcass rigidity, which translates directly to sharper steering response and better high-speed stability on hardpack. The trade-off is a slightly firmer hit over sharp obstacles compared to a more flexible bias-ply. For most desert and trail riders, the handling gain is worth it.
