Best For
Trail-Focused Dual Sport Rider
You run a dual sport or enduro machine that spends most of its life off pavement — street miles are a means to an end. You ride drier climates or firm terrain where the MH compound is in its element, and you're clear-eyed about the trade-offs a dirt-first tire brings to the tarmac.
Perfect Match
Weekend Enduro Enthusiast
Local enduro events, hard enduro loops, or organized trail rides on medium to hard-pack are your weekend. The Super Light build is noticeable — direction changes feel quicker and your legs thank you later. You need DOT approval for transit sections between stages and you're not looking to commute on this thing.
Great Match
Adventure Touring Rider
If you're covering real highway miles between destinations or your riding is mostly pavement with the occasional dirt detour, the Terra Force-EX MH's tall knobs and 20/80 bias will work against you — expect highway buzz, faster wear, and reduced stability on-road. A true 50/50 or road-biased ADV tire will serve this style of riding far better.

Frequently Asked
That green stripe is Mitas's quick-ID for the MH — medium-hard — compound. It tells you the rubber is formulated for firm, dry terrain like hard-pack dirt, decomposed granite, and rocky trails. If your riding is mostly in wet or soft conditions, look at the MS compound variant instead.
Mitas trimmed the carcass weight compared to their standard builds, which reduces the rotational mass the suspension has to manage. In practice that means quicker direction changes, more responsive suspension action, and less fatigue accumulating over a long day on the trail. On lighter dual sport bikes, the difference is especially tangible.
Technically yes — it's DOT-approved. But the 20/80 road-to-dirt rating is honest about its priorities. Short transit sections and trailhead connections are fine, but sustained highway riding will accelerate wear, increase noise, and reduce stability. If pavement is a major part of your route, this isn't the right tire for that mission.
Medium to hard-pack soil, dry rocky trails, and decomposed granite are where this compound thrives — conditions common across Southern California's riding areas. The knob spacing does offer some self-cleaning, but riders who frequently hit wet or soft terrain would be better served by an MS-spec tire.
The Terra Force-EX MH is the evolution of the yellow/green-striped MX MH model, with updated tread geometry, a refined carcass, and improved profile design. The changes came directly from enduro and dual sport rider feedback, targeting better traction consistency, impact absorption, and overall stability on technical terrain.
Expect a solid season of weekend trail riding if dirt is where this tire spends most of its time — that's a reasonable lifespan for a competition-oriented compound. Add more pavement miles into the mix and wear will accelerate noticeably, since the knob height and compound are optimized for dirt, not asphalt.
