PIRELLI Motorcycle Tires
Italian engineering, Orange County grip — 37 Pirelli families in stock and ready to mount today.
Pirelli is one of the few tire brands that can genuinely claim world-class performance across every discipline — sport, cruiser, adventure, motocross, trial, and scooter. When you see a Pirelli Diablo on a MotoGP support grid or a Scorpion Rally on a Dakar-prepped BMW, that's not marketing. That's a company that has put rubber to pavement at the highest levels and brought the technology back down to street riders.
At MTC, we stock 37 Pirelli families — more than almost any brand we carry. That depth is intentional. Whether you're chasing corner exits on an R1, commuting on a scooter, or heading into Baja on a dual sport, there's a Pirelli built for your exact use case. We carry it below MSRP, and our walk-in mount & balance means you're back on the road the same day.
Heritage
Pirelli has been building tires since 1872, making it one of the oldest tire manufacturers on the planet. The Italian company entered motorcycle racing in earnest through the 1990s and became a dominant force in Superbike and Supersport competition, eventually securing exclusive tire supply contracts for the WorldSBK championship. That racing pedigree feeds directly into consumer lines like the Diablo Supercorsa and Diablo Rosso IV Corsa — tires that carry genuine race-derived compound and carcass technology, not just the name.
MTC’s Take
Pirelli sits comfortably in the premium tier — comparable to Michelin and Bridgestone at the top end, clearly above value brands like Kenda or IRC. Where Pirelli earns its premium is specificity: their lineup isn't padded with one-size-fits-all compromises. The Diablo Supercorsa SP-V4 and Rosso IV Corsa are legitimate track-day weapons. The Angel GT is a touring tire that doesn't bore you to death. The Scorpion Rally is a favorite among serious ADV riders. The one honest caveat: mileage on the hotter sport compounds (Supercorsa, Rosso IV Corsa) trades off hard against grip — these are not commuter tires. Riders who push on weekends and cruise the rest of the week tend to step down to the Rosso IV for the better balance. Compared to Michelin, Pirelli often wins on feel and feedback at the limit; Michelin counters with slightly longer tread life on street compounds. Both are excellent — it often comes down to personal preference and what your specific bike likes.

What's the difference between the Diablo Rosso IV and the Diablo Rosso IV Corsa?
The Rosso IV is the street-biased version — excellent grip with better everyday mileage and wet performance. The Rosso IV Corsa uses a softer, more race-spec compound with a modified profile that rewards aggressive corner speeds and track-day use. If you're mostly street with occasional track outings, the standard Rosso IV is the smarter daily choice. If you're flipping your priorities toward track with some street, the Corsa is worth the shorter lifespan.
Are Pirelli Supercorsa tires street legal or just for the track?
The Diablo Supercorsa SP-V4 is DOT-legal and fully street-legal — SP stands for Street/Production. That said, they need heat to work properly, so cold early-morning canyon runs or wet roads are not where they shine. Riders who use Supercorsas on the street tend to be experienced and aggressive; if you're doing mixed street and track, they're a serious option, but the Rosso IV Corsa may be a more balanced call.
How does the Scorpion Rally hold up for serious off-road adventure riding?
The Scorpion Rally is one of the most respected ADV tires in the segment — it handles dirt, gravel, and loose terrain far better than most dual-purpose tires without completely sacrificing highway manners. Riders on large-displacement adventure bikes (GS, Africa Twin, KTM Adventure) frequently run it for Baja trips and backcountry riding. If you're 60% or more off-road, the Rally is the right call. For more pavement-heavy routes, step over to the Scorpion Trail II or III.
Does MTC stock Pirelli scooter tires, or just sport and street fitments?
We stock the full range — including the Angel Scooter, Diablo Rosso Scooter, and their reinforced variants. Scooter tires are one of the most overlooked upgrade opportunities we see; a lot of riders run way too long on worn OEM rubber and don't realize how much grip they're leaving behind. Walk in, we'll size it up, mount it, and balance it while you wait.
Is Pirelli priced higher than other brands at MTC?
Pirelli is a premium brand and priced accordingly, but we sell all Pirelli tires below MSRP. For the performance you're getting — especially on the Diablo and Scorpion lines — the price-to-performance ratio is strong. We can also help you match the right tire to your actual riding style so you're not overspending on race compound when a sport-touring tire would serve you better and last longer.
